Food, Fun, Friends and Fotography:)

Saturday morning breakfast with the Stouts at Big Ed's...deeeelish! Gotta love some southern homecooked breakfast with pancakes, grits, eggs, bacon, biscuits....and you gotta love Jereme and Ashlee:) A couple weeks ago Seth, mom and I went for our food tasting in Benson. I'm not going to say much because I want it to be a surprise, but the food is absolutely awesome! We sampled their chicken, steak, crab cakes, salad, potatoes and other vegetables.
This is our chef, who is amazing and very personable as well...you can see from our dessert below that he's pretty talented. He's even going to make Seth a personalized fruit salad for the wedding, since he's not much into the greens:)

So on the way home from a wedding on Saturday, Seth called to tell me he bought me a new camera! I love taking pictures and have been using his camera since I broke mine last Christmas. As an early wedding gift, he wanted to get me a shnazzy new camera...and just in time for my trip to Charleston this weekend. What a fiance I have:)

Home Sweet Home....
In late April I traveled out to Scottsdale, Arizona for work and mom got to come out there with me to relax by the pool and provide me with moral support:) I was born in Phoenix, which is about 10 minutes outside of Scottsdale, so we spent the weekend with old friends...it was a blessing to be with them and get the chance to catch up!
The day after I arrived home in Raleigh, Seth and his friend Chris Lilley played in the Campus Crusade for Christ Golf Marathon in order to raise support for the ministry. If you don't know much about it, check it out at www.campuscrusadeforchrist.com, or www.ncsucrusade.com if you go to NCState, Peace, Meredith or Wake Tech. There are many wonderful Christian ministries at State, however, Crusade was just the one Seth and I happened to be involved with....but check them out for yourself!
I was Seth's caddie for the day....so that meant driving the cart, taking him clubs, getting balls that went who knows where, getting back in the cart and doing it all over again:) And did I mention it rained? Did I say rained? I meant poured!!! About 3pm, when the jet lag set in, and my second pair of clothes were soaked, I started to fade and the rest was a blur...But I did get to spend the entire day with Seth, for a good cause other than he's my fiance, so I can't complain:)

Spaghetti anyone?

After cleaning out the fridge together one night, we realized we had enough spaghetti sauce to feed the neighborhood...take your pick:) I understand this is not our proudest moment, but it was one of the funniest.

Catching Up

So I'm discovering that life is flying by faster than I can blog about. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, but here's a few updates for you...




Choosing colors for the wedding was not something I took very lightly. I spent quite a lot of time one evening in JoAnn Fabrics browsing the variety of designs and colors there are. I did this because one of my very dear friends, Sara Jenkins, will be making practically all clothing attire to be worn in our wedding. She will be making things like my dress, the Mother of the Bride dress, the bridesmaids dresses, the groomsmens' ties, the flower girl's dresses, and whatever else we can think of! God has given her an amazing gift at designing and sewing clothes/curtains/blankets/etc. and I'm so grateful that I get to have her help me with my wedding in such a personal way! And speaking of flower girls...here they are. I've had the privilege of knowing them since they were born...I have lots of fun memories with my sugar bugars:)

Moving right along...here's a shout out to some great friends! Lately we've taken up playing games, going to the gym, eating together, watching American Idol and Lost, and other things of that nature. Good times...

And here's to some great friends who just moved back to NC!

Dave and Erin lived moved to NYC shortly after getting married.
Well, thankfully they moved back just in time for Erin to settle in
and get ready for the first addition to their family -
can't wait to see you Henry!

The First Foundations...

"The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper..." If you've never heard what Heaven will look like, check out chapter 21 of Revelation. It will be like nothing we've ever seen, and not just because of what it's made of, but because we will be with God and His son, Jesus Christ.

But back to the first foundations. Although nothing like jasper or precious stone, I'm excited to say that Seth and I now know that the first foundations of our house will be concrete and wood. Yep, last Saturday we signed the contract on our first home! As Brooke would call it, 'Our Married Home':)

Our house will actually not be finished until September, but they will pour the foundation in June. We will keep you posted as it is built, but until then, here's what we have to show you...

I know you can't tell by this picture, but it's going to be beautiful! We are so excited and blessed to have been able to buy a house...I can't wait to live in it with my soon to be husband:) And you are more than welcome to come visit anytime!
