we had a few errands to run yesterday late afternoon, and when you have a newborn you know that errands inevitably take longer because somewhere along the way you have to stop to nurse. so after stopping at a park to nurse, we headed to mellow mushroom for dinner because it was already 730 and the kids were starving (mommy too). and wouldn't you know that some random nice family who sat next to us paid our meal?! i almost cried when the waitress told us! i don't know that i've ever been the recipient of a gesture like that and it was such a blessing! i don't even think we looked like we were struggling, having 3 small kiddos out to dinner, but i think they just wanted to bless us. i ended up chatting with them for a minute and thanking them, and they mentioned their kids were grown now and that they wished they still had little ones around. it was a sweet moment:)
anyways, after dinner we decided to make a night of it and head down the street to krispy kreme for a 'late night' treat. needless to say, the kids loved it! jack ate most of his donut, while lilly jo was just content picking off the icing and eating it piece by piece. it was a packed house at krispy kreme so we did some people watching and then headed home to put the kids down. full of sugar. at 10pm.
it was a fun end to a long day...and we still have a few leftover donuts for tomorrow:)
